Being Asynchronous
We love the asynchronous nature of Standuply. One of the biggest complaints with daily “in-person” standup meetings is that it’s difficult to find a time slot that is convenient for everyone. Even worse is being “in the zone” working on a really hard problem and then having to break that for a status meeting. As a team leader, it’s also insightful seeing what everyone is focused on each day to make sure we are all aligned and working toward a common goal.

Standuply has helped us stay more focused and build a more accountable culture. We’ve really tried hard to set the expectation that what you list as your “must-do task” for the day must really get done. And we help each other make sure we all finish what we set out to do. One other added benefit comes from the fact that our team is geographically dispersed and working at times on very different projects.
