Over last few weeks, we’ve released a bunch of new slash commands in Slack. With these commands, Standuply becomes more flexible and easier to use. As a result, your team productivity increases 👍

So, let me introduce brand new slash commands that you might have missed.

/standup

Now, you can trigger a standup report manually in Slack. We’ve been getting many requests to implement such a command but only after Slack released the dialog functionality did it become obvious how to do it right.

Using dialogs to trigger a standup in Slack becomes super easy.

How it works

  1. Type the command “/standup” in any channel or via DM with Standuply.
  2. Specify users you want to interview using parameters as such: “/standup @user1 @user2 @user3”
  3. Mention the channel where you’d like to see the summary: “/standup @user1 @user2 @user3 #channel1”
  4. Run the command, pick time and change default questions if needed.
  5. Wait for the team to respond.

Useful hints

  • If you run the command in a channel without the @user parameters, Standuply will ask all channel members.
  • To use the command in a private channel, invite Standuply to that channel first.
  • If you use the command without #channel parameter, Standuply will deliver to you only the summary via DM.
  • The “/standup” command works in DM with Standuply or in a channel. It doesn’t work in DM with other users.

Basically, you can run the command “/standup” within any channel, and Standuply will interview all channel members and deliver results personally to you.

/request

You can get results in Slack from any Data Requests configured in Standuply. No need to schedule it anymore.

How it works

  1. Select team members in the Standuply web account who have permission to call certain requests.

2. Type the command “/request” in Slack in a channel or via DM to Standuply.

3. Get the data via DM from Standuply.

Useful hint

You can run the “/request” command this way — “/request hotkey”, e.g. “/request G01” or “/request Burndown(hotkeys are defined in Standuply web account).

Coming soon

We are participating in Product Hunt one-month hackathon, which is until the end of November. By that time we will have added more juicy requests:

  • Top hunts from Product Hunt;
  • Top images from the Reddit (from any subreddit);
  • Top news from the Reddit (from any subreddit);
  • Top stories from Medium;
  • Top news from TechCrunch;

Join our hackathon page on Product Hunt to stay tuned —

/standuply-login

Now share permission to your Standuply web account and let your team members edit or create reports by themselves.

How it works

  1. In the “Settings” menu go to the “Permissions” section.

2. Specify users who will be able to get access to your Standuply account and manage the reports.

Users with permission rights can receive access to your account by typing “/standuply-login” command in Slack. Then a magic link to log in is sent.

Useful hints

  • Shared access to your account works only via Slack command “/standuply-login”.
  • The magic link Standuply generates is safe and it expires after 30 min.
  • “/standuply-login” command is available only for users who installed the Standuply app after the 6th of October.

If you can’t see the “/standuply-login” command in your Slack, contact our support team to get detailed instructions on how to make it work.

/ask-coach

Get individual advice for your team from the experienced Agile coaches.

We want to make your processes more productive, that’s why we go beyond just standup meetings. If you need practical advice on Agile/Scrum this command is for you.

How it works

  1. Type the command “/ask-coach” in Slack.
  2. Describe your case in a dialog window (if you recorded your case in a video then just post your Youtube URL).
  3. Soon you’ll receive a response from the coach via DM from Standuply.

Useful hint

  • Standuply invites you to a series of webinars with the experienced Agile coaches. The first webinar is free for Standuply users and their teammates within the same Slack team.

Hurry up to reserve your seat at the first event via this link — http://bit.ly/2iODgWL

We hope that our new features will make your teams more productive without leaving our favorite tool — Slack.

Stay tuned, and we will be happy to receive feedback from you 🙌
